Hi. I’m a 2006 graduate of the Royal Veterinary College in London, England. I grew up in the Baltimore area. After college in Atlanta and an internship at Turpentine Creek, I moved to the UK in 2001 to pursue my veterinary degree. Married to Lisa in 2004, I’m happy to be back in my hometown.
I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family and watching the Ravens. I’m frequently out and about in the local parks with the kids and dogs. I try to live an active lifestyle and enjoy each and every day. I look forward to being your neighborhood vet.
Hello. I am a 1996 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. I moved to Baltimore after graduation and practiced in the Baltimore area for the first six years of my career before moving to London, England in 2001. While in the UK, I worked with the RSPCA and did extensive work in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. I moved back to Baltimore in 2006 and settled in Catonsville with my husband and son.
I am a mommy of two kids, two dogs and three cats. I enjoy reading, running, and watching college and professional football. Caring for animals and the people that love them is truly a calling for me. I strive to be an honest, open and compassionate person in life and veterinary medicine.
Hello! I am a 2008 graduate of The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine, and joined the FRVH team in November 2014. I grew up in Western Maryland, completed my undergraduate studies at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and currently reside in Sykesville. Upon graduation from veterinary school, I completed a small animal internship at Dogs and Cats Veterinary Referral in Bowie. I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Delta Chapter of the Society of Phi Zeta (Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine). My special veterinary interests include internal medicine, preventative and geriatric medicine, and client education. I am extremely committed to my patients and continually strive to give them the best medical care.
Outside of work, I enjoy boating, shopping for antiques, traveling, and spending time with my husband and two sons. I also love playing with our two dogs, Paige and Reedie (named after Ed Reed of the Baltimore Ravens).
Hello, I have been a Registered Veterinary Technician for over fifteen years and have been working in the Veterinary field since 1994. Following completing CCBC Essex’s Veterinary Technology program in 1999, I moved to Columbus, Ohio where I worked at a prominent veterinary specialty hospital in the Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology departments. Baltimore has always remained my home and where I plan to stay and grow my family.
I have been with FRVH since the beginning and have enjoyed being a part of our growing veterinary family and becoming part of the Catonsville community. Over the past few years, my focus has included taking on additional Practice Manager responsibilities while remaining heavily involved on the medical side as a technician. I am currently pursuing my certification to become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager and am excited to take on additional challenges here at FRVH.
Even though I’ve been called the cat whisperer during my career, I equally enjoy caring for all animals. Providing your pets with high quality compassionate care and providing you with helpful information is what I’m most passionate about.
Hi there! I’m Heather, another one of the Registered Techs here at FRVH. I was originally a Nursing major during my first year of college until I realized that working with animals is what I am most passionate about! I graduated from CCBC Essex in the spring of 2011 with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and passed my National Board Exam to obtain my license in August of 2011. I have been working in the veterinary field since 2008 and have been with Frederick Road since March of 2012. Professionally, I have a special interest in anesthesia and dentistry. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, the beach and of course spending time with my friends, family and furry “children”! I currently reside with my husband, Matt and our 3 kitties- Pickles, Monster, Barnacles and our handsome Golden Retriever, Buoy (pictured). Matt and I are avid boaters and love getting out on the water as much as possible! We really enjoy taking Buoy for boat rides and swimming as often as we can. I look forward to seeing you and caring for your fur babies very soon!
I have been an RVT for 20 years! I attended Essex Community College’s Veterinary Technician program. I have lived in and around Baltimore for my whole life. I have a 5 year old daughter, who occupies most of my free time. I’m hoping now that she is older, my husband and I can travel again. I love crafty things; especially making stained glass. We share our home with brother and sister cats, Rainbow and Briar Rose (yes, I let my daughter name them). My interests in veterinary medicine include dentistry, pain management, nursing, and client education.
Hi, my name is Kristina. I was born and raised just outside of New York City and moved down to the Baltimore/DC area for my husband’s job. I previously worked at a large veterinary hospital in NYC for 4 years. I have 3 dogs; Brock – a black lab, Luke – a Golden Retriever, and Charlee – a Golden Retriever. In my free time I enjoy playing soccer and taking my dogs to the beach, where they spend their time fetching, swimming, and rolling in the sand. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and your furry family members!
Hi. I’ve been working in the veterinary field for about 12 years now. I started out as a non-registered technician, but have recently transitioned into the role of Receptionist & Surgical Coordinator with limited Technician Assistant duties.
I received my Master’s Degree from the University of Florida in Exercise & Sports Sciences/Athletic Training and have a particular interest in physical rehabilitation for our companion animals to benefit their quality of life.
I currently share my home with two dogs, three cats and six chickens. I also spend several days a week taking care of two horses. I feel very fortunate to be able to spend my days surrounded by people, both co-workers and pet parents, who share my passion and love for animals. I could not think of anything I would rather do than witness the bond between people and their furry family members every day.
Hi! My name is Karen. I am one of the receptionists here at FRVH. I have lived in the Baltimore and Catonsville area my entire life. I enjoy taking cruises for my vacations. I have several dogs, a cat, and a rabbit. My hobby is spending as much time with all my animals and my grandson as I can.
Hello! My name is Ruth and I was born and raised in London, England. I moved to America about 2 years ago when I married Kyle, a Southern Maryland native. Back in the UK I worked for a group of veterinary hospitals for 6 years and studied to be a Veterinary Nurse (as they are called across the pond). I also spent 4 years as a human Pharmacy Technician. I am incredibly excited to be back in the veterinary industry again- I feel I have returned home. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pets right now but my husband and I just moved to the area so hopefully we can get a kitty soon. In the mean time, I feel incredibly privileged to be able to care for and cuddle with all your wonderful cats and dogs.
Siera Barrick, Veterinary Assistant
Hello everyone, I am very excited to join the family at Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital. I have always had a love for helping animals, making sure each and every one that comes in for an appointment gets extra love. I am an easy going and fun person to talk with, so come visit me! I look forward to meeting all the pets and owners at FRVH.
Dr. Jessica Franchini:
Hey! I graduated from St George’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 and did my clinical year at the University of Minnesota. I received my BS in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and received a Master’s degree in biology from the University of South Carolina. I stayed in the south for several years managing a research lab at the medical school.
I grew up in Harrisburg, PA . I cannot remember a time in my life I did not love animals or want to be a vet. After trying different, less exciting and fulfilling professions, I finally became what I was meant to be! After spending many years in the south, I decided to migrate back to my northeastern roots and settled in Baltimore, MD where I met my husband and subsequently now call home.
My current menagerie consists of 3 dogs: a chow chow named Woolly Mammoth, a Shar Pei called Hippo and a goofy goldendoodle referred to as Nacho. We also have three cats: A domestic short hair, Isosceles, and two Sphynx cats: Mr. Piggy and Boney Baby Bob. When I have spare time, I enjoy running/exercising, reading, traveling, DIY projects around the house, skiing and catching up on good TV.
I am so excited to be a part of the Frederick Rd AH team. My interests include soft tissue surgery, neurology and bonding with my patients and clients! I can’t wait to help you help your pet be the healthiest they can be!
Hi! I’m Amanda and I’m so happy to be a part of the team here at FRVH! I have always had a love and passion for animals and helping them. Currently, I only have one pet – my beloved Siberian Husky, but I definitely plan on adding more to my little pack. I plan on becoming a registered technician to learn more about veterinary medicine and the needs of each individual pet.
Hi, I’m Mercedez. I moved to the Baltimore area about 6 years ago from Northern Virginia. I have a deep love of animals and come from a background in pet care (boarding, grooming, daycare). I also have a passion for horses. I work with the young horses at a private barn, the show horses at Medieval Times, and I have my own senior gelding. I share my home life with two dogs, two guinea pigs, and a bearded dragon. My life is like a zoo and I love it.
